At 11am on Thursday, October 30 in Market Square, Sunderland, two winged living statues – glistening in silver from head to toe and bearing bows and arrows - will herald the arrival of Go North East’s brand new Mercedes bus services – the Silver Arrows.

Go North East driver, Bob Scott has been elected as the bus operator’s Driver of the Year after passengers cast their votes for drivers they felt made their bus journeys extra special.
Go North East has introduced its first bus to bus, branded service ticket with The Orbit Switcha, only available on their new Orbit 51 and 52 buses which operate in Gateshead.

Go North East will be accepting Northumberland County Council school bus passes on its normal passenger services with immediate effect despite council funding to pay for the service running out.

Even more passengers are set to benefit from the luxury and comfort of
Go North East’s Red Arrows service after a further 1/2million investment in the fleet.
From Sunday, October 26, Go North East’s eye-catching Lime buses will be extended with services on Lime 8 and 8A operating to Chester-le-Street, Stanley, Annfield Plain, Consett and Castleside.
Days before a new local bus begins operation in Gateshead, 12 pupils from Roman Road Primary School will become the first passengers to board Go North East’s latest branded bus, The Orbit, as the young passengers of the future travel to Gateshead Civic Centre for the official launch at 11am.

Go North East has been selected to manage the new Washington Bus Station and will be working closely with staff from Washington Galleries to provide first class services for passengers and shoppers.
